Lil Wayne is one of the most talked-about rappers in the game right now. Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that every time Weezy makes a move, the world pays attention. Most recently, everyone has been waiting for him to drop his much-hyped upcoming album, Tha Carter V.
Although Wayne blames legal trouble with Cash Money Records for the delay in its release, some are wondering if the controversial rapper will even live to see his album drop.
2016 was a hard year for Lil Wayne, who suffered from a series of health scares, the worst being when his private plane had to make an emergency landing after he suffered two consecutive seizures. Much speculation has been made that the seizures were a result of his excessive consumption of purple lean, or prescription codeine cough syrup, which the rapper has struggled with off and on for years.
Although Wayne denies that his health scare was related to his substance abuse and he has since returned to the stage, there are some who still wonder if he isn’t hiding some sort of health problem, especially after he dropped some cryptic tweets in September, including one that said “I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun.”
Unfortunately for all of Wayne’s fans, all we can do at the moment is wait and see what happens. There is cause to be hopeful, though, as Lil Wayne has implied on his Facebook page that he has several new projects in the works for 2017.
And if you can’t wait any longer to hear Tha Carter V, you could always try to befriend pharma-douche and internet supervillain Martin Shkreli. Apparently, he somehow got his hands on a leaked copy of the unreleased album.
